what an afternoon for a ride
Tuesday, May 31st, 2005I do think I’m getting faster on these commute rides. As I was riding through Niagara Square, passing City Hall, a young guy on a red Trek road bike passed by, and as I rode along, it turned out we were heading the same way. I saw him a couple more times as I wended through downtown, and then down about Seneca Street and Bailey Avenue (a couple miles from downtown), he passed me again. That was the last I saw him because we turned different ways.
So I noticed that without the panniers, their extra weight and aero drag, I am typically riding 19-21 mph instead of my usual commuting speed of 16-18 mph. Cool.
ride distance: 7.5 miles
