far behind in blogging

Let’s see, how many rides haven’t I blogged? I don’t know. I have been so busy lately that I don’t sit down at the computer to write as much. I had a few nice rides with my kids, but I rarely blog about “family rides” anyway. And I don’t write much about bike taxi rides, either, but boy have I got some stories to tell about those.

I keep thinking I really ought to start asking people on the bike taxi if it’s okay if I take their pictures with my camera phone, but it’s usually dark out when I have passengers, and my camera phone has no flash (I have to wait until after Christmas to get a new one). It’s not like bike taxi passengers are all just funny or weird or anything like that, but there are just some interesting stories that come up.

Tonight was the last concert of the Thursday at the Square series. From what I could hear, the band was great. I wasn’t as busy as I would like to be, but I did see a retired bike taxi operator that I met last year (Hi, Dan!) and talked with him for a while. I also saw one of my old neighbors, a young guy who just completed welding school and is looking for a job, and I talked with him for a while. That’s the kind of small town Buffalo is… you see your old neighbors in a crowd of thousands and you talk about what’s going on since the last time you met.
