windy hockey night
Saturday, October 28th, 2006I took the bike taxi downtown tonight to give rides to hockey fans, despite the strong winds. I got there late, for some reason, so I missed the majority of the crowd on its way into the arena, but that meant I also meant the heavy rain that was falling at that time, too.
The wind was amazing. I was blown uphill, and even pedaling as hard as I could, I couldn’t go down the hill. Seriously. Even with a couple passengers on the bike taxi, I was getting blown up the hill I usually have to struggle to pedal to the top.
Unfortunately, the hockey team lost, snapping a winning streak, so the crowd coming out of the arena wasn’t too happy, and usually when the crowd is unhappy, they don’t take bike taxi rides.
